Free Community Center Opens for Afghan Immigrants in Sacramento
Afghan Hope Association launches hub for newcomer support
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (Nowruz Media) — The Afghan Hope Community has opened a new community center in Sacramento to provide free support services to newly arrived immigrants, including job counseling, résumé assistance, and help completing administrative forms.
Jafar Wahidi, head of the Afghan Hope Association, said the center was established to assist newcomers who face difficulties handling everyday administrative tasks or applying for jobs.
“Our goal is to help people who don’t yet know how to prepare a résumé, apply for employment, or respond to official correspondence from government agencies,” Wahidi told Nowruz Media.
The center offers several free services, including computer and internet access, document printing, resume prapration and one-on-one job search consultations. Wahidi encouraged all immigrants — especially recent arrivals — to take advantage of these resources.
“We want to make sure new families have the tools they need to start their lives here with confidence,” he said.
The Afghan Hope Association’s community center is open daily to the public and aims to serve as a local hub for guidance, learning, and connection among Afghan and immigrant families in Sacramento.
