By: Hasina Fazli

A comprehensive list of community resources for newly arrived Afghan immigrants in the East Bay is now available in Farsi, Pashto and English.

The resource guide was developed by the Bay Area  Resource for the Newcomers BARFN) and includes information for residents in Fremont, Hayward, Newark, Concord and Oakland.

The resource list covers a wide range of local services — from Afghan restaurants and Halal grocery stores to mosques, immigrant support organizations and Islamic community centers in the East Bay. It is designed to help new arrivals find culturally appropriate food, community support and reliable information as they begin to build their lives in the United States.
