GERA California’s Family Support Program Assists 175 Families

SACRAMENTO, CA – The Global Emergency Response and Assistance (GERA) California hosted a Family Support Program in Sacramento, bringing together 175 families and children from newly arrived immigrant communities.
The event featured a diverse range of activities, including poetry readings, art therapy sessions, general knowledge competitions, and needs assessments for newly arrived families. Additionally, GERA California took the opportunity to recognize and appreciate its staff members for their contributions.
According to a statement on GERA California’s Facebook page, teenagers participated in art therapy workshops and group discussions, using painting and colors to express their emotions.
GERA California announced plans to expand its programs in the coming year, offering health initiatives, women’s empowerment programs, job training, robotics workshops, soccer tournaments, as well as driving and English language classes to better support underserved communities.
During the event, GERA California also provided assistance to families in need, reinforcing its commitment to supporting vulnerable immigrant communities as they settle into their new lives.
