“Afghan Hope Community Association” Opens in Sacramento

SACRAMENTO, CA – A new community organization, the “Afghan Hope Community Association” has officially launched in Sacramento to provide essential support and guidance for newly arrived Afghan immigrants.
Jafar Wahidi, president of the “Afghan Hope Community Association”, stated that the organization was established to assist new Afghan immigrants with job placement, housing, and educational resources.
“This association is run by volunteers who dedicate their time to helping newcomers find employment, secure housing, and navigate the educational system,” Wahidi said.
Bridging the Gap for Afghan Immigrants
Erika Figueroa, a Sacramento-based immigrant rights advocate and the association’s financial coordinator, emphasized that the organization’s mission is to bridge the gap between immigrants and essential resources to ensure a smoother transition into life in the United States.
Currently, 170 volunteers are actively working within the association to support newly arrived Afghan immigrants in their resettlement journey.
According to Wahidi, the organization has been unofficially assisting Afghan immigrants since 2021, helping hundreds of newcomers in Sacramento and surrounding cities integrate into their new communities
